Tonight in Tehran

I just got an update from my contact in Tehran, where it's about 11:30pm local time.

He says, "There is a quasi-state of martial law in the capital city. We just passed through a Basiji (state militia) road check. Older and younger Basijis, holding huge guns, were checking out passing cars for potential 'troublemakers.'  Meanwhile, despite the Supreme Leader's stark warning against the demonstrators, many went on their rooftops and shouted 'allah Akbar' (God is Great!). Pro-Mousavi people are glued to their computers, waiting to hear what Mousavi would say about tomorrow's planned rally.  We just have to wait and see."

I can't think of a better way to end this post.
